One of the top young quarterbacks in college football, Taylen Green had a breakout 2022 season with the Boise State Broncos. Just a redshirt freshman, Green was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year and helped lead the Broncos to an exhilarating Frisco Bowl win over North Texas. After another great season the following year in his redshirt sophomore campaign, Taylen announced his transfer to Arkansas where he is expected to be one of the top talents in the SEC. As the excitement around Taylen continues to grow, he remains humble and focused on using his gifts to glorify God. “As a young kid, my parents always instilled in me the importance of believing in God. So I grew up in the church. However, I really didn’t know Him for myself until high school when I pursued Him and just studied the Bible daily.” After finishing up a stellar career at Lewisville High School, Taylen committed to Boise State for his college career. After spending his first year on campus as a backup, Taylen made his first start in the 2022 season. Throughout his time as the Broncos’ starting quarterback, Taylen says he relied on God throughout for strength and comfort. Every week, Taylen says his faith played a key role in his development both on and off the field. “Faith has played a huge role in my football career. Having faith in God even when things are not going as I planned is what motivated me to persevere because I know that God’s plan is bigger than any situation. Having faith that when hardships come it is a part of His plan.” During the 2023 season, now a redshirt sophomore, Taylen continued to impress, playing in 13 games and starting 12. He saved his best performance for the Mountain West Conference Championship Game, earning Offensive MVP honors by completing 12-of-15 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns, along with rushing for 90 yards and two scores on eight carries, leading Boise State to its record fifth MWC championship. As Taylen now looks towards the next chapter of his career at the University of Arkansas, he continues to carry with him a strong sense of humility and drive to make a difference. He says that when others look at him and his career, he hopes they know that it is all God. “My biggest impact I hope to have is to use my platform to spread Jesus’ name and to glorify Him with the gifts and talents God has blessed me with, and to inspire and encourage Christians to do the same.” A natural leader and source of support and encouragement to those around him, the impact that Taylen has continues to make a difference each and every day. With a new beginning at Arkansas, Taylen is excited for the opportunities ahead. Regardless of the result, Taylen says that he hopes every second on the football field is used to glorify God and point others to Him.
