Born and raised in Lexington, Massachusetts, Frelick’s athletic abilities have been on display throughout his life. A star in high school not only on the baseball diamond but on the football field too, Frelick was named the Massachusetts Gatorade Football Player of the Year after throwing for 30 touchdowns in his senior year. After choosing to attend Boston College for his baseball career, he credits his faith for leading him to where he is.

“Faith has always been a very important part of my life. It has played a big role in my athletic life, where I chose to go to school, and most importantly my family life.”

Choosing Boston College turned out to be a great decision, where Frelick was an All-ACC Freshman his first year, and first-team All-ACC and ACC Defensive Player of the Year his junior year.

Drafted 15th overall in the 2021 draft, Frelick impressed scouts with his skills both offensively and defensively, along with his mindset and leadership around the game. As he has grown throughout his first year of pro baseball, he says his faith has helped guide him every step of the way.

“My faith has always been something I’ve been able to lean on and turn to when things are not going my way on the diamond; it helps me stay positive and constantly reminds me of the path God has for me.”

Frelick says that mindset has allowed him to always stay positive and keep his focus on what matters most.

As Frelick has seen his platform grow as one of the top prospects in the game, he says he hopes to use his gifts around the game of baseball for something bigger than himself. He says he strives to be a source of hope for others and share with them the joy he finds through his faith.

“Being in the position I am has definitely given me a bigger platform to express my relationship with God. I hope to share the faith that has helped me get to where I am today to all those whose paths I cross, especially those in need of it.”

Admired by those around him for his character and a maturity that is far beyond his years, the excitement for what Frelick will bring the Brewers continues to grow exponentially.

With an invitation to Spring Training and the chance to learn from some of the greatest in the game, Frelcik anticipates more than ever the chance to play for the Brewers and help lead them to a World Series. As he continues to prepare for each at-bat and use his gifts to the fullest, he says he knows his purpose lies beyond the game of baseball. With every swing Frelick takes, he hopes to inspire and encourage others and play for something bigger than himself.
