A star at Gretna High School in Nebraska, Cincinnati commit Faith Frame will be bringing her skills on the court to the Bearcats in 2024. A talented Libero/DS, Faith’s skills, enthusiasm, and grit will all be on display for years to come. As she has worked to get to where she is today, she says that her faith has played a guiding role throughout the course of her life.
Faith’s story of trusting in God began to take shape before she was even born. When Faith’s mom, Keely, became pregnant with her, she was faced with a grim diagnosis. Keely was told that she had stage 3 breast cancer, and the risk of the pregnancy meant that they had to make a decision: Keely’s life, or Faith’s. Even in the most difficult of circumstances, Keely put her trust in God, and Faith says she thanks God every day for the miracle that they are both here today.
“My parents relied on Jesus and his guidance as well as healing power. There were many miracles in this story but the biggest miracle is that we are both here 17 years later and very healthy.”
After her parents found out they were having a daughter, they quickly knew exactly what they wanted to name her.
“My name came into play the minute my parents found out I was a girl. They had ‘Faith’ all was going to be well for both of us, Faith impacted my life before I was even born, that is why I play for Him.”
Now playing with the top competition in the country with her mom cheering her always by her side, Faith knows that God’s plan will always be greater than her own.
A top libero in her class, Faith says that she finds comfort and peace through trusting God. Now preparing to play for a leading Division-1 volleyball program, she says that turning to God is what gets her through every game and practice.
“Faith keeps me grounded and helps me through even the hard times in volleyball, knowing that God’s grace is there no matter what. The only thing that can stop grace from working is our own lack of faith. When I put my faith into action, His grace comes alive in my life.”
Cincinnati has been taken to new heights under the leadership of coach Molly Alvey, and they look to bounce back to becoming one of the top volleyball teams in the country. As Faith prepares for her time with the Bearcats, she knows a lot of eyes will be on her as she does all she can to help her team. Regardless of the circumstance, Faith says that she just hopes she can use her gifts to spread God’s light.
“I want everyone to see Christ living through me! It is not about us living for Jesus, but Jesus living through us and being His Light in all I do! I want little girls to look up to me and see a leader. I want people to see Christ in all that I do. I’m thankful everyday for his faithfulness because without Him I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
While Faith has already made a tremendous impact on the court, it is how she carries herself that may be what is most impressive. Her kindness, grace, and humility shine through everywhere that she goes. With a wisdom and maturity that are beyond her years, Faith looks to take advantage of every day and take note of all the miracles that come with it. As she and her mom wake up each day feeling blessed, they look to spread that light everywhere that they go.
